It’s no wonder this spot is a regular takeout favorite among locals who value consistent quality and hearty portions.

Reviewers express genuine enthusiasm, with comments praising the diverse menu selections—ranging from crisp fried items to delicate soups—and the overall freshness and taste. One guest was notably impressed by the unique twist on cheese rangoon, enhanced with onions for an unexpected yet delicious surprise. Another appreciated the authenticity of the egg drop soup, noting its natural flavor without the artificial yellow coloring often found elsewhere.

While some have remarked on minor inconsistencies like occasional saltiness or the sushi and grill stations being closed during certain visits, these are far outweighed by the consistently welcoming service and thoroughly cooked, flavorful dishes. The cleanliness and attentiveness do not go unnoticed, creating a pleasant setting ideal for family meals, casual outings, or an indulgent solo feast.

In summary, Old Great Wall Buffet is a standout destination for those craving hearty, authentic Chinese cuisine in Bay City. Incredible!! Some of the best Chinese buffet food I've ever had! Everything from the vegetables, to the different assortments of chicken and shrimp they have out. There wasn't a single item that I would pass on, everything looks, smells, and tastes amazing! I was a little surprised with their cheese rangoon, never had mine with onions before, but a nice change! The staff are all very friendly, the restaurant has been clean both times I've eaten here. Overall, amazing experience! I actually can't wait to come eat here again!

From the outside of the building looks rather small but it's a lot more roomy inside. The food is great and plenty full with the buffet however you can order menu items if you're not into buffet traffic . If there is a small issue is with one of the employees there I'm not sure if she's part of the management or not but no offense intended but she reminded of an Asian version of speedy Gonzales because you never see her until she's literally right behind you yelling out loud to her employees and she actually took the serving spoon away from clients so she could make the dishes refreshed before the customer touched it. I wish she was no longer there but the other staff is very friendly helpful and accommodating.

It seems like a shabby place on the outside but it’s actually really nice! good food as well also clean tables and attentive staff, some of the food was overly salty but otherwise was great all cooked thoroughly the fried stuff was crisp not soggy the dumplings were a little dry but oh well soup was good too they didn’t have the sushi or grill open when I went I don’t know if they have soft serve either but I enjoyed my time here not many buffets have been open or opened back up after Covid.
